Well, I saw it as a huge distraction but was not confirmed…
I started off with a Facebook Page, moved to Quora, then Instagram, then Twitter, and landed on YouTube as well. I have always liked to interact with all my followers and younger brothers/sisters, as they give me lots of motivation, positive energy and inspiration to do more.
But I was getting distracted by pictures of people I was not interested in. I was their friend, but I found those pictures to be mere noise. So I decided to unfollow almost everyone (you except my cousin and companies I own).
I have talked to my friends and they were OK. Social media can be helpful in sharing your views, but it can be really distracting when it feeds you with noise you don’t want to listen.
Some people see it as ego, arrogance or pride, but I do not understand how is that related to the number of people you are following. It’s pure “cutting off the noise”. Follow only those people who inspire you to work hard and improve yourself or those who mean something to you.
